Ajñāna Nāśaka: The Dispeller of Ignorance

ajñāna rūpaka
tamasāre bharā
calā patha jīvanara ।
jñānara pradīpa
jāḻidele guru
ghuñci yiba andhakāra ॥1॥
sthāvaru jaṅgama
kīṭa ṭhāru brahma
sakaḻa e carācara ।
hṛdacetanāre
e tinilokare
guru jñānara iśvara ॥2॥
guru aṭe tattva
tapa guru satya
guru tattvara ādhāra ।
guru ṭhu adhikā
tattve nāhim̐ dekhā
guru śaraṇa sadora ॥3॥
āhe jagannātha
tumbhe mora nātha
tumbhe jagatara guru ।
mora ātmā jāta
sarva hṛde sthita
guruṭi cinmaya cāru ॥4॥
mantra aṭe satya
pūjā tāṅka nitya
guru deva nirañjana ।
guru vākya jāṇa
mahā satya maṇa
vacana parama jñāna ॥5॥
akhaṇḍa maṇḍaḻa
bharā carā cara
diśuachi yete sattā ।
se darśita patha
guru pada yukta
guru aṭe rakṣā karttā ॥6॥
pitā mātā bandhu
sahṛda bāndhava
kehi nuhem̐ tāṅka sari ।
vidyā tīrtha ādi
sarva devā devī
gurupade yānti tari ॥7॥
guru brahmā viṣṇu
guru maheśvara
guru ṭi parama brahma ।
sehi guru pāde
koṭi daṇḍavata
ghena he guru praṇāma ॥8॥
guru mūrtti dhyāna
pūjā pāda jñāna
mantra guru vākya jāṇa ।
guru pade citta
thileṭi nirata
guru kare mokṣa dāna ॥9॥
guru brahmānanda
parama ānanda
guru jñānara murati ।
guru dvandātīta
gagana svadṛśa
jīva paramara sthiti ॥10॥
guruṭi acaḻa
surūja anaḻa
sākṣī svarūpa ṭi guru ।
guru bhāvātīta
triguṇa rahita
praṇāma he sadaguru ॥11॥
English Translation:
Formed of the ignorance
Dullness filled in presence
Is the on-going path of life
The lamp of knowledge bright
When one’s Guru shall light,
Step aside shall the darkness’ strife.
From inert to living
Insect to Brahma’s string
All is conditioned in world’s pledge
In consciousness of heart
In these three world’s part
Guru is Lord of Knowledge.
Guru is the essence
Hold Guru with intense
Guru is reality’s source
Beyond Guru’s limit
No principles exist
Submit onto Guru as course.
O’ Lord of Universe!
You’re the Lord of my verse,
You’re the Guru of entire world
My soul as has been born
And in every heart sworn
Guru is pure knowledge unfurled.
Mantra is of truth’s essence
Do pray to Him always
Divine Guru is pure in form
Guru’s words as are known
But are great truth reckon
Utterances supreme wisdom.
Unbroken creations
Still and life filled stations
All the visible excellence
That directed pathway
With Guru’s feet does lay,
Guru is the shield of defence.
Father mother and friends,
Dear kinsfolk and descends,
No one can be of His equate
Skills, pilgrimages,
All deities and sages,
At Guru’s feet do liberate.
Guru is Brahmā Viṣṇu
Guru’s Maheśvara too
Guru is the Great Brahma’s stance
Onto that Guru’s feet
Million prostrates repeat,
O’ Guru, accept obeisance.
Guru’s image reflect
On feet prayer direct
Know Guru’s words are Mantra chants
Focus on Guru’s feet –
Always when stays complete –
Boon of salvation Guru grants.
Guru is Brahma’s bliss
Form of the supreme bliss
Guru is idol of knowledge
Beyond doubt Guru stays
Akin to sky spotless
Joining Being Supreme as wedge.
Guru is serene still
A sun’s radiance fill
Guru to all witness does bear
Guru beyond thoughts waits,
Untouched by tri-world traits,
To that Sadguru, I revere.
