Śobhā Baḍa Siṃhāra Veśa: Beauty of the Great Flowery Attire

Song in praise of the divine graceful beauty of Lord Jagannātha’s Baḍa Siṃhāra Veśa (Great Flowery Attire) when the Lord is completely adorned with beautiful garlands in the Śrī Jagannātha Temple in Puri, every night, before the doors of the Inner Sanctum are closed for the Lord to sleep.

ଶୋଭା ବଡସିଂହାର ଵେଶ,
ହେ ରାଧାଇଶ ॥୦॥

ନୃତ୍ୟନ୍ତି ଦେଵଦାସୀ
ସଦା ସଜ୍ଜା ତୁଳସୀ

ପହୁଡିବେ କମଳା ଵିଳାସ,
ହେ ରାଧାଇଶ ॥୧॥

ଖୁଣ୍ଟିଆ ଡାକ ଦେଲା
ପହୁଡ ବେଳ ହେଲା

ଶ୍ରୀଅଙ୍ଗେ ଲାଗିଲା ଅଳସ,
ହେ ରାଧାଇଶ ॥୨॥

ତେତିଶ କୋଟି ଦେଵେ
ଆସି ମିଳିଲେ ସର୍ଵେ

କରନ୍ତି ଜୟ ଜୟ ଘୋଷ,
ହେ ରାଧାଇଶ ॥୩॥

ଅଭିରାମ ଦିଏ ଡାକ
ଉଠ ମୋ ହୃଦ ପଦକ

ଵିଭବ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ହୋଇ ତୋଷ,
ହେ ରାଧାଇଶ ॥୪॥


English Transliteration:

śobhā baḍasiṃhāra veśa,
he rādhāiśa ||0||

nṛtẏanti devadāsī
sadā sajjā tuḷasī
pahuḍibe kamaḷā viḷāsa,
he rādhāiśa ||1||

khuṇṭiā ḍāka delā
pahuḍa beḷa helā
śrīaṅge lāgilā aḷasa,
he rādhāiśa ||2||

tetiśa koṭi deve
āsi miḷile sarve
karanti jaẏa jaẏa ghoṣa,
he rādhāiśa ||3||

abhirāma die ḍāka
uṭha mo hṛda padaka
vibhaba jñānī hoi toṣa,
he rādhāiśa ||4||
