Importance of Following the Path of Truth

The Supreme Lord here reveals why He advises the importance of following and practising the path of Truth, and how the follower of Truth finds the Divine.

(Below is the revelation, as extracted from Māḻikā (Mystic Oracular Books), given by Śrī Guru Lord Jagannātha in Oḍiā; translated into English for the benefit of Mankind)


Original Transliteration

Śrī Guru Uvāca:

pāibu āmbhara sattā tahim̐ ।
bhāva re rahibu yebe tuhi ॥1॥
kahi deli ṭi ye ehā sāra ।
āneka kathā ṭi suṇa gīra ॥2॥
yemanta kahilu āmbhe suta ।
temanta pāibu ṭi niẏata ॥3॥
hoile āmbha ye dekhā sāra ।
miḷiba tote ṭi pūṇẏa gīra ॥4॥

ehi ye ādeśa nuhem̐ suta ।
ādeśa debā ṭi āmbhe etha ॥5॥
chāḍi deichu ye boli jāṇa ।
kevaḷa kahu ye āmbha jñāna ॥6॥

kaḷi re ādeśa māna jāṇa ।
kehi na karanti ṭi sampūrṇṇa ॥7॥
teṇu ṭi ādeśa dei muhim̐ ।
kimpāim̐ bhakta ṭi pāpa dehī ॥8॥
hoiba boli ṭi kahe jāṇa ।
teṇu na kari ādeśa māna ॥9॥
kevaḷa batāi die rahi ।
āmbhari jñāna ṭi tāku dei ॥10॥
kahu thāe ṭi ye ehā jāṇa ।
emanta rahichi ye vacana ॥11॥

āmbha pāśe dekha nāhim̐ suta ।
ye kuṭa kapaṭa ādi jñāta ॥12॥
kevaḷa satẏa avalokana ।
karu thāa ṭi ye tumbhe jāṇa ॥13॥
satẏa re sattā ṭi thāi suta ।
satẏa ye aṭe ṭi nirmaḷānta ॥14॥
satẏa ku karu ṭi parīkṣaṇa ।
satẏa kara teṇu paridhāna ॥15॥
satẏa ku satẏa re miśāiṇa ।
satẏa na chāḍa ye tuhim̐ puṇa ॥16॥
satẏa ku āvori thāa suta ।
satẏa ṭi aṭe mahā śakta ॥17॥
satẏa re basichu āmbhe rahi ।
satẏa ṭi aṭe mum̐ bhāvagrāhī ॥18॥

satẏa ku dekhibā pāim̐ suta ।
satẏa re kara ṭi yatna yukta ॥19॥
satẏa avalamvi hoi tahim̐ ।
satẏa ku anveśa kara tuhi ॥20॥
ehi ye satẏa vāṇī māna ।
satẏa ku karāi paridhāna ॥21॥
emanta suta kara tuhi ।
kahi delu tote ehi ṭhāim̐ ॥22॥

āu ye tohari pāim̐ suta ।
nāhim̐ ye dekha ṭi ethe sukta ॥23॥
ehi divya vāṇī māna sāra ।
kahi caḷilu ṭi āmbhe gīra ॥24॥

Śaraṇaṃ


English Translation

Śrī Guru Speaks:

You will find where my presence does lay
In ardent devotion when you stay
This is the essence of my words, hear,
Another aspect do listen here.
O’ son, as I have ordained for you
Those all you shall get for sure, construe,
At the time when you shall but meet me
You shall gain traits of divinity.

O’ son, this is but not my order,
Giving specified orders here
Do know that I have stopped in this age,
Now, I only speak of my knowledge.

These orders in this ignorant age –
No one takes them to completion stage.
Hence by act of giving an order
Why a devotee into sinner –
Should I turn? Thus, I now convey here,
Hence without giving any order –
Instead I just explain everything
By this action of knowledge sharing,
And I say all these things that you hear
Thus remains the content as is here.

At my place, o’ son, none see sprawl –
Conspiracy, hypocrisy, all,
Only Truth’s expressive following –
But you should be endlessly doing,
Truth has truthfully my own essence
Truth is pure, clear, in its appearance,
Truth I examine if in you bear,
Truth, hence, as the clothing you must wear.
Truth in Truth you must strive to add on
Truth you must not ever leave alone
Truth you tightly hold onto, o’ son,
Truth possesses great firmness alone
Truth is where but I sit forever
Truth is me, the ardour insister.

Truth if you want to experience
Truth you must care about thence
Truth’s follower then you becoming
Truth’s very practise you keep doing
These verses are but Truth’s expression
Truth’s clothes you today putting on –
O’ son do as is this great action
I, here, now, give you this suggestion.

More as is to be meant for you, son,
See left is no more revelation,
These divine phrases to you giving –
I, the Supreme, thus am now leaving.
