The King of Mantras
The Supreme Lord here reveals the King of Mantras, which is ingrained with Nāma Brahma (Word Power in Name), and chanting which focuses the mind and shows the path to the Supreme.
(Below is the revelation as extracted from Māḻikā, given by Śrī Guru Lord Jagannātha in Oḍiā; translated into English for the benefit of Mankind)
Original Transliteration
ehi ye āmbha nāma sāra ।
nāma mantra ṭi boli dhara ॥1॥
mantra rāja ṭi ehā kahi ।
re sutā ghoṣi thāa tuhi ॥2॥
samaste miḻi miśi jāṇa ।
ghoṣu thāa ṭi ehi nāma ॥3॥
tebe ṭi pāiba āmbha patha ।
hasi kahilu dekha etha ॥4॥
śrī kṛṣṇa govinda hare murārī ।
he nātha nārāyaṇa vāsudeva ॥5॥
ehi ye mantra rāja sāra ।
brahmāloka ru uddhṛta gīra ॥6॥
hoithilā ṭi boli jāṇa ।
nārada ku ehi brahma jñāna ॥7॥
dei thile ṭi jāṇibā ra ।
mo patha pāim̐ ṭi bikara ॥8॥
mo pāse āsibā pāim̐ sutā ।
dei thele ye sehi goṭā ॥9॥
Śaraṇaṃ
English Translation
This is but my very name
Name Mantra as is the same
King of Mantras but this is
O’ daughter, do by heart this.
All in unison must aim,
To keep on roting this name
Then you will notice my way
Smiling here, look now I say.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa Govinda Hare Murārī
He Nātha Nārāyaṇa Vāsudeva
King of Mantras this indeed
From Brahmā’s plane as derived
Had been done to first become
Nārada’s Brahma wisdom.
To him Brahmā gave to know –
My path to unfold and show –
And then reach me, o’ daughter
He had given this before.
