Visualisation of the Subtle Body

The Supreme Lord here reveals how the strange looking iconography of Lord Jagannātha’s idol is the actual visual representation of the Subtle Body that is present in all beings.

(Below is the revelation as extracted from Māḻikā (Mystic Oraclular Books), given by Śrī Guru Lord Jagannātha in Oḍiā, Hindī and English; translated into English for the benefit of Mankind)

English Translation

The Supreme Lord Speaks:

Incarnation that you know –
Is who I as myself show.
Incarnation is who stands
Goes after ordained work ends
But still the Era till now
Has not yet finished, see how.
Of Incarnation that’s said –
How do you say work’s ended?

Of Kaḻi Era’s symptom
I’m saying, listen, o’ son,
In Kaḻi Era what’s said
In Guru’s form comes instead
In Sadguru’s form does gleam
As truth, consciousness, bliss deem,
Staying in his heart, o’ son,
All I say is truth but none,
Of Veda’s verses akin
Fruitful here see, as has been.

I will tell you some more here
In words mixed with Sanskrit hear
Else of Hindī character
Else in English you concur
Everything I will say fain,
And make you follow again.

When one gets samādhi (entombed), darśana (auspicious visual) is in the dream only. Physical personification cannot be evoked. ॥13

O’ my child, the personification which is known as Puruṣottama (Greatest Among all the Forms) is perceivably Śrī Guru, which is otherwise known as Sadguru. ॥14

Śri Guru and Sadguru are one and the same. I, the Almighty Jagannātha (Lord of the World), am known as Śri Guru. ॥15

In these worldly eyes, to see a Guru of Sat Cintan Ānanda (Truth, Consciousness and Bliss), is my idol. ॥16

I have shown myself in the Mundane Paradise which is known as Nitya Vṛndāvana (Eternal Abode of Supreme). It is my Līḻāsthaḻī (Play Ground). ॥17

Come to me. See me. In your two eyes. It is your fortune to get this blessing. ॥18

The name of any Sadaguru is only me, which is taking all offerings from the disciples. None else in the world is getting that offering. ॥19

baccā, soco tumhārā śārīra jaba calā jāyegā, to kyā rahegā? ॥20

O’ son, think when your body will go away, what will remain?

tumhārā mukha kaisā hogā, jaba tumhārā paṃca tattva calā jāyegā? ॥21
How will your face be, when your five elements go away?

mukha maṃḍaḻa meṃ agara tumhārā kucha nahīṃ rahegā, to kyā rahegā? ॥22
In your face, if nothing remains, then what will remain?

vahī jo rahegā, vaha kaisā dikhāī degā, batāo to baccā! ॥23

That which will remain, how will that look like? Tell me, o’ son!

vahī jo āṃkha nahīṃ dikhāī degā, usakā ākāra kaisā hogā, baccā? ॥24

That eye which will not be visible, how will be its form, son?

vahī to do āṃkha ke aṃdara jo āṃkha jhāṃkatā hai, vaha merā hīṃ āṃkha hai! ॥25

That eye that peeks from inside the pair of eyes, that is but my eye.

vahī to merā svarūpa hai.
jaba taka jīvita rahatā hai yaha śārīra, taba taka meṃ usake pīche chupa ke rahatā hūṃ ॥26
That is my form. Whilst lives this body, till then I hide behind that and stay.

This is known as Astral Body or Subtle Body. ॥27

emanta hoichi boli jāṇa ।
re suta bujhibu tuhi jñāna ॥28
ehi ye dekhuchu vigraha ra ।
pāścād bhāga ṭi boli dhara ॥29
sabhi ṅka aṭe sehi karttā ।
āmbhe ṭi sehi prāṇabharttā ॥30

sabhi ṅka madhyare āmbhe jāṇa ।
āmbhe ṭi svayaṃ nārāyaṇa ॥31
rahichu boli ṭi suta śuṇa ।
kahi delu ṭi ehi jñāna ॥32

Śaraṇaṃ

And thus has happened reckon,
You will grasp this wisdom, son.
What you as the idol find
Is but the portion behind
Of all, that is the doer
And I am that life giver.

I’m there in everyone, know,
I myself Nārāyaṇa –
Am present, o’ son, listen,
Thus I’ve told this wisodm.

Amen

Disclaimer:

The Divine Revelations extracted and presented here in their original and uncorrupted form have made heavy incorporation of Chanda (Poetic Metre and Crypt), have multiple meanings and ingrain deep symbolism which make them very difficult to understand. While the same Sūkti (Divine Revelation) may also be understood and interpreted differently by different seekers and teachers of Spiritualism, all paths lead to the same goal towards realisation of Brahma (the Ultimate Truth).

The above Translation is a humble attempt by members of Hari Parivār to interpret and explain the original extraction in context of the Supreme Lord Jagannātha’s prescribed path of Bhāva (Ardour), Bhakti (Devotion) and Prema (Love).
